First Pony Ride

How cool is this? I know I was holding her the whole time but I love that my sweet girl got to ride a pony. After talking to others and now seeing how comfortable she was doing it, I really need to look into horse therapy! Thanks Scout (the pony) for being so nice.

Mealtime Blues

I like to be a positive person but mealtime has been an ongoing frustrating thing for me. Maybe if I just have my negative moment I can let it go and focus on the positive. I found out yesterday that our sweet girl has lost weight again for the second month in a row. It takes a lot of time to feed her typically six times a day (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, bedtime snack with medicine). I try to find the right balance of healthy foods that don't contain foods she's allergic to but also have enough calories. It also takes time to make her something separate and blend it up. Most "calorie boosters" are really sugary and I feel like I'm giving her lots of processed drinks or food to up the calories. Now to focus on the positive to regain my energy and patience at mealtime. . .

The positive: 1. Her nutritionist helps us with new ideas to help keep her as healthy as can be. 2. I don't do every meal. I do get "breaks" and am very thankful for my husband and other's help. 3. Overall, she eats pretty well and is healthy. 4. I do enjoy the quality time together when feeding her. She likes to "talk" and play games at mealtime.

Thank you Lord for my girl's health!

Remembering A Friend

Five years ago we said goodbye to a wonderful friend after he battled cancer for many years.
Gibby is someone who always made you smile. There was always a fun time to be had with Gibby!
He was my husband's best friend for many years and welcomed me into their friendship. I remember our trip downtown to celebrate Jim's birthday(How YOU doin'?), the Halloween where he dressed as a baby in a diaper(hilarious), the entertainment he provided at our wedding, going to the lake and lots more fun times.
I'm thankful for the friendship and memories he gave me but especially the friendship and awesome times he shared with Jim.

Roller Coaster

My friend once sent me a card that said "Life is like a roller coaster. There are lots of ups and downs and it costs a lot to ride." I really enjoyed that card because isn't that the truth?!
We never know what may be around the corner. As much as we try to plan the path ahead God is control and it will be according to His plan. So I say throw your hands up in the air and enjoy the ride!

One of the great things of being her mom

There are so many blessings in being my girl's mom but I just love how excited she gets when I walk into a room. It's such a great feeling to see her get her huge smile and kick or shriek with excitement. She makes me feel so special with how excited she is to see her mommy! :) Thanks sweet girl!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I have to admit I don't know too much about St. Patrick's Day but since my husband's mom's family is Irish we now celebrate with the Irish cuisine - corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. Then with the leftovers we have reubens! There goes my healthy eating for the week - all for traditions, right?!
Grandma sent our girl a cute St. Patrick's Day shirt(I like the sparkly shamrock) and barrettes which she wore to school last week and today.

Back to the blog

One night I stayed up late trying to set up this blog and then somehow forgot about it afterward. I may add a CaringBridge page for my daughter but for now I'll see if I get into the blogging groove.

Let me introduce you to my wonderful hubby and girl. . .
