Growing

We've had lots of snow this year so we wanted to break out the sled and see what our sweet girl thought of the snow. As I was downloading the pictures I remembered we had some pictures from 3 years ago of her in the same sled. Look how she's grown! I remember 3 years ago she was pretty unsure of being on the sled and in the snow but this year we got her to smile and relax her arms. What a happy girl! We're so blessed!

United By The Word

Our church is doing this project called United By The Word. With the project there is a schedule to read the entire bible in two years. I have never read the entire bible and am not a big reader but this is something I really want to do. We started at the beginning of the year and I am already behind but not giving up. I just read additional chapters each day I do sit down to read to help get caught up. I'm really enjoying it but it's amazing how even in that time I set aside to focus on God I get distracted and how easily I let something else be first in my mind. I think this is a good challenge to not only learn about the word but keeping our focus on God and having Him foremost in our minds throughout the day. If you are interested in this project I can forward you the schedule. Happy reading everyone!

Temple Grandin

I've been meaning to write this for a while now. I highly recommend the movie Temple Grandin. It's about a girl(now woman) with autism. We really enjoyed it! Although it's true what people said that it's not a sad movie, I still cried. If you haven't seen the movie you may not want to read the rest of this blog entry. ...I don't want to give anything away.

What got to me most were the moments where you saw the mother's perspective of the multitude of efforts it takes to teach something to her child and sometimes just needing a break because it's emotionally trying. Also when the mom says her daughter is "different, not less" was one of my favorite quotes.

You should see it - Temple has an amazing life story!
