I am really excited to be starting a new bible study at church based on Lysa TerKeurst's book Made to Crave... Satisfying Your Deepest Desire with God, Not Food. I think it'll be helpful for a healthy body and soul. If you're interested in her book you can find more information here.
As I was reading more about the author I found this that she had written about herself and thought it was cute enough to share! :)
"My Everyday Life: I feel like a success in my everyday life if I get through the day having spent some time with the Lord, exercised in some way, had a laugh with one of my kids, had clean underwear in my husband's drawer when he needed them and made a friend smile."

United By The Word
Our church is doing this project called United By The Word. With the project there is a schedule to read the entire bible in two years. I have never read the entire bible and am not a big reader but this is something I really want to do. We started at the beginning of the year and I am already behind but not giving up. I just read additional chapters each day I do sit down to read to help get caught up. I'm really enjoying it but it's amazing how even in that time I set aside to focus on God I get distracted and how easily I let something else be first in my mind. I think this is a good challenge to not only learn about the word but keeping our focus on God and having Him foremost in our minds throughout the day. If you are interested in this project I can forward you the schedule. Happy reading everyone!
Temple Grandin

I've been meaning to write this for a while now. I highly recommend the movie Temple Grandin. It's about a girl(now woman) with autism. We really enjoyed it! Although it's true what people said that it's not a sad movie, I still cried. If you haven't seen the movie you may not want to read the rest of this blog entry. ...I don't want to give anything away.
What got to me most were the moments where you saw the mother's perspective of the multitude of efforts it takes to teach something to her child and sometimes just needing a break because it's emotionally trying. Also when the mom says her daughter is "different, not less" was one of my favorite quotes.
You should see it - Temple has an amazing life story!

The Reason for the Season
Luke 2:10-11
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

Memories on Marshall
I am so excited to tell you a little about Memories on Marshall! My parents have created an awesome retreat for scrapbookers or any crafter! If you haven't been to a scrapbooking retreat before it is such a treat! You have a whole weekend to work on your scrapbook (or knitting or any projects really) while hanging out with your girlfriends and no distractions. The meals are all cooked for you and you don't have to do dishes or tend to the kids or pets for a whole weekend! Not only will you get relaxing quality time with your friends but you can be productive too while catching up on your crafting! Seriously, this is one of the best gifts you could receive so think about adding it to your Christmas wish list. Husbands, you will be your wife's hero for this gift! Check out http://www.memoriesonmarshall.com/ for more information or you can contact me.

It's happening
Maybe you noticed a long time ago but I didn't . . .until today. There are these strands of sort of white (maybe silverish) color growing in my hair!! I didn't realize it's happening!! I stopped coloring my hair over a year ago but I never should have because I could have continued my pleasant state of denial. Just another thing to make me feel old. . .
